Our Newsroom
The desks, people and process behind our reporting on policing, civil liberties, Atlanta and US defense.
StopCop.City is organized into reporting desks, each focused on a beat our readers follow closely. Every story is researched, written and edited by our newsroom before it is published.
Our desks
How a story gets made
- Pitch and research. Reporters identify a development and gather primary documents, data and expert sources.
- Writing. Stories are written to explain the facts clearly, with sources linked in the text.
- Editing and fact-check. An editor reviews every article for accuracy, fairness, sourcing and clarity before publication, following our Fact-Checking Policy.
- Updates. Developing stories are updated as new information emerges, and errors are corrected under our Corrections Policy.
Our team
The StopCop.City Newsroom is the editorial team of ASLUCK Studios, London. Our editors and reporters bring more than 11 years of experience in digital news publishing and work across our policing, Atlanta, civil liberties, environment and defense desks.
Bylines
Articles carry the byline of the writer responsible for them. Author pages list each writer’s background and recent work. Some breaking updates and briefings are published under a newsroom byline when several staff members contributed.
