About StopCop.CityCorrections Policy
We fix our mistakes quickly and openly. Here is how to report one and what we do next.
Effective October 2026
Accuracy is the foundation of our work. When we make an error, we correct it promptly and transparently.
How to request a correction
Email contact@stopcop.city with the subject line “Correction”. Please include the article link, the specific statement you believe is wrong and, if possible, a source that shows the correct information.
What happens next
- An editor reviews every correction request, usually within two business days.
- If we confirm an error of fact, we fix the article and add a correction note at the end describing what was changed.
- Minor fixes such as spelling or formatting are made without a note when they do not change the meaning.
- If a headline or a central claim was wrong, the correction note says so clearly.
Types of changes
CorrectionA factual error was fixed. A dated note explains what was wrong.
ClarificationThe facts were right but the wording could mislead. We explain the change.
UpdateNew information was added to a developing story. The note describes what is new.
Removing content
We do not remove published articles simply because someone dislikes the coverage. Requests to remove or anonymize content are considered case by case, for example where there is a safety risk or a legal requirement.
