Know something we should be reporting? Here is how to get information to our newsroom safely.
Many of our best stories start with a reader. We want to hear from service members, veterans, military families, police officers, defense industry workers and anyone with knowledge of a story in the public interest.
How to send a tip
Email contact@stopcop.city with the subject line “Tip”. Tell us what you know, how you know it and how we can verify it. Documents, data and photos help, but please do not send anything classified.
Protecting yourself
Use a personal deviceAvoid using a work computer, government network or work email account.
Consider an anonymous accountA new email address not tied to your name adds a layer of privacy.
Never send classified materialWe will not accept or publish classified information.
Tell us your concernsIf you want to remain anonymous, say so and we will discuss how we can protect you.
What happens next
A member of our newsroom reviews every tip. If we pursue a story, we will verify the information independently before publishing anything. We may not be able to respond to every message.
